About our organisation

The CRC for Chronic Inflammatory Diseases is an unincorporated joint venture formed through the cooperation of three equity core participants:

University of Melbourne
Monash University
University of Queensland

And a non-equity core commercial participant:

AstraZeneca, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.

The CRC also has a supporting commercial participant:

  • Zimmer, the world’s leading orthopaedics company.

The aim of the CRC for Chronic Inflammatory Diseases is to understand the processes underlying serious chronic inflammatory diseases and to discover and develop better treatments to reduce the burden of these diseases.

Our research is working towards a healthier future for our community by improving the management of diseases like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Osteoarthritis (OA).
